Are you guys thinking of staying up at Lone Oak campground for this weekend or are you thinking about staying some place that would be closer to both lakes.
Last year I could not get into Lone Oak so Woody & I stayed at a motel in Torrington, which is a lot closer to both lakes.
There is a Quality Inn & a Days Inn located in Torrington that I will look into for all those interested. Let me know.

I need to do some research on room rates but here are some details.
It is 10 miles from Bantam Lake to the motels in Torrington & about 9 miles from Torrington to Highland Lake in Winsted.
Torrington is north of Bantam on the way to Highland Lake. There is a Quality & Days Inn there.
It is 32 miles from Bantam to Lone Oak & you need to drive past both Torringtom & Highland Lake to get there. Lone Oak is 14 miles past Highland Lake.
Woody & I stayed at the Quality Inn aka the Torrington Motor Lodge. It is not quite as nice as the Best Western in Bethel, but was a decent place to spend the night. There are several good places to eat in the area.
Let me see what kind of rates I can get for booking 5 or more rooms.

And the winner is
The Quality Inn just gave me a rate of $79.99 per night based on taking 5 rooms. They have an ample parking lot for the boats & the clerk said they have an outside electric hook up to charge batteries. They have an indoor pool & a workout room and I think they have a 24/7 coffee machine in the lobby.
UNFORTUNATELY....the closest strip club is located 22 miles to the south in Wolcott CT.
