I am suprised that these shackles actually held up, dangerous when you come to think of it. Took a couple hours to get them off and fabricate new ones. My brother is a certified welder with years experience welding at the LIRR. If anyone needs welding work done let me know and I will hook you up.

Great to know about your brother if I need to have something welded. I am glad that you got them fixed before anything bad had happened.

Off the truck. It's the pieces that hold the rear leaf springs to the frame. The truckis starting to show it's age. the beach will do that. 1995 214,000 miles it sat all winter and started right up runs great. I LOVE MY FORD AND MY YAMAHA. Now I'm searching for a rear bumper (my hitch) as it is in the same poor condition. No luck on e-bay, I will be calling some local junk yards to try and find solid one or need to get bolt on hitch and deal with rusty bumper.

Joe you need to get the brackets on your trailer modified so that they rest over the top of the side rails. It would be a simple thing for a welder to make that modification so that the trailer doesn't fail ever again.

Mike a rear bumper should be readily available for your truck from a salvage yard, I think a front would be harder to get than a rear bumper.
