We gotta get you using it..its easy...
Your unit has 8hrs of recordable space in the unit right from the factory,no card is needed..once you fill the space,you will then need a zero line card.all that you recorded will automatically be transfered to card once you get 1..
.I recomened buying the auto chart pro pc software,& it comes with a card..
Hit menu twice,scroll over to the humminbird icon..select auto chart n turn on...its that simple..
Do zig zags as you are recording..4-5mph is a good speed...make sure you turn off recording every time you want to move..
I can explain the software when you get to that point..

I see auto chart pro is the software, I will buy it today.

Watching on you tube today, I will buy auro chart pro with zero line card. Also , I see that I can download humminbird baseman that was released on 7/5/17. I bought my unit in April

Yes they updated the base map...
Make sure you Restore to default sttings before doing any updates..& make sure sd is blank..

Go to your account @ humminbirds website(im assuming you registeted your unit)..
It will tell you what version the newest update is.
Then you can see what update your unit has in it now through system settings in your unit..
