Hey Roberto,
How would you like to have one of these for your fish soup?
No doubt about it, this redear sunfish is a freak. Caught by Robert Lawler on Lake Havasu on May 2, 2011, the fish measured 16.75 inches long with a girth of 19 inches and weighed in at 5 pounds 8.8 ounces to qualify as a new Arizona state record. The gigantic fish is now a contender for world-record status with the current 5-pound 7-ounce IGFA World Record redear sunfish caught in 1998 by Amos Gay on South Carolina's Diversion Canal.
