Alright, the title was just to get you interested.......
If you were allowed only 3 sticks at the first tx,figuring the weather is somewhat normlish,Knowing that they SONAR the weeds like A-holes all year,it's crystal clear in the early spring,east twin Largies are the most skittish in the NE,what would they be???
Mine;
-A hair jig that looks like I picked it off the shower drain on 4 lb test mono.
-Ripbait the balls outta the place with a Staysee 90sp in the most invisible color available.10 lb test mono.
-An original wiggle wart in the Shrekalicious craw color on 8 lb test mono.

I'm thinking that could get me at least 5 dead shorts....Paulie

Baits I could leave on the dock;Senko,Spinnerbait,Modified split ring walk the dog hollow body frog....

Yeah Paulie...you use those baits on East Twin in early spring and you'll be wishing you had 5 dead shorts. I aint saying what I'm gonna use...maybe 2-Pac will tell ya.

Paulie I have to agree with 2 of your 3 choices and the third is just a variation.....
1. Hair Jig is a definite! 6 lb flouro 4 is just too scary for me to use first, but I would have a spool in case I can't get bit on the 6 lb.
2. Jerk or Rip you know the bait! I use 10 lb. neutrally bouyant Copolymer!
3. Slightly tighter wobbling crankbait or Rat L Trap.....10 lb. flouro!
I'm all in with these! Water temps will be quite chilly! USUALLY!

that early in the year, emergent weed growth WILL be green...they don't start attacking it until after May.

Yeah, the clear water doesn't make it easy, and the fish are skittish as hell, but if you find the "right" school, you can clean house....

all of your choices are good ones for that time of year, keep in mind that sometimes the right bait presented the wrong way is what will get you bit.

listen to the fish.
