Since I have SOOOOO much to do during the day, I stopped by the middle lake (between Forest Lake & Twin Lakes in Wantagh) today to see if the bass were active. They were not! However the DEC had apparently stocked the lake with 2 year old Brown Trout on Wednesday afternoon & they were active. I Drove back home to get the in-line spinner & small spoons that I have not thrown in years (rooster tails, mepps & of all things some Phoebe minnow shaped spoons)and went back to the lake. I immediately started catching browns up to and over 2lbs. In about 2 hours I had caught about a dozen and dropped about 1/2 dozen more. They weren't bass, but they were fun to catch.
