Managed a day out on the big water with my good friend and
our own Outcast Tyrant Kenny C.
It's funny, in all the time I've known Kenny, this is the first time
we have ever spent the day fishing together.
Water temps 77-79
Wind NE - and then turned SW appx 10-12mph
Hazy - Hot - Humid.
We stared the day off chasing brown fish, had a few blow ups on top
and then had a few jump and throws to add insult to injury.
A couple of smaller fish were boated just to keep us interested.
With the smallmouth window partially closed, we decided to at least make
a day of it chasing green fish........and what a wise choice that was.........
not only can they be easy, but most of them were practically suicidal !
We went to a few of the "right" weedbeds, and the fish were chewing......
Half of the pitches Kenny made never even hit the bottom.
Most of the fish were in the 2-2.5lb class, but a couple went "a little"
better than that.
We lost count of how many, at times they seemed to fly into the boat as fast as you could pitch........
My boat started to resemble the graveyard of soft plastics.........
Kenny, my brother, I had a great time fishing with you, and can't wait to do it again !
