United Bass Anglers - 09/25/2010 Mahopac Results
No this is not a misprint. United did in fact fish on Mahopac this past Saturday. You know...one of the finest smallmouth fisheries in Southern New York. Well...blame it on something...the warm weather...the 73 degree water temps at the end of September...the proximity of the full moon...or everyone suddenly forgetting how to catch fish...but fish were few and far between.
However, as always, somebody finds fish. It is just that in this particular instance the fish that were found were little itsy bitsy ones. John Garbarini, Jr. walked away with his second Mahopac victory of the year with a "sick" 5-fish sack that went 6.9lbs. Yes...6.9lbs! That was the only limit of the "event". Coming in 2nd place was non-boater Nestor Cruz, who took his son Manny to topwater school, with 3 fish for 5.8lbs. Finishing in 3rd place was Scott Cocioppo with 4 fish for 5.25lbs. Rounding out the top 5 were Erik Ruckdeschel and Dave Mead. At this point, I don't think it is necessary to highlight any more weights! LOL! Wow...what an embarrassing results report!
